Thornton Wilder said, “We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.” Singers Companye is one of our treasures. It is our communal experience that is at the heart of every phrase of music we utter. If we can become one with each other we elevate our ordered sounds to spiritual expression. In filling the space around us with our own energy, personalities and moods, we come closer to sharing with our listeners the essence and atmosphere of whatever music we are singing. In our singing community there is no gesture without meaning, no sound without purpose. In our work together, we strive to honor the intentions of the composers and poets whose works we are sharing with listeners, forever trying to become one voice in that effort. As we listen to our lives, perhaps all of us should try harder to find more effective ways to become one people in one world.

– Dr. Samuel Gordon

For more than 40,000 years, the human voice has been the medium for expressing every aspect of life experience. Singers Companye is dedicated to celebrating that tradition by enriching the greater community through a pervasive culture of singing. Our artistry is based on our shared belief that transforming human feelings into artistic expression by providing a musical means for that expression, singing can help us transform our life experiences in very positive ways. While we don’t know why or how, we do know that choral music touches people. When voices come together they express the ineffable, always creating something new for both performers and listeners.

To date, Singers Companye has raised over $11,000 for Ukraine through the following organizations:

World Central Kitchen, International Committee of the Red Cross, UNICEF
